Tom Fyler began his investment career over 30 years ago on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue "Investment Bankers Row". Tom was hired by investment banking firm Cowen & Company's initial public offering unit, Whale Securities. While there, he secured the Series 7 and Series 63 registered representatives licenses.
Tom continued his investment work with the Greenwich Village office of the Raymond James Associates subsidiary, Robert Thomas Securities. He continued building his practice there over the next seven years. There he grounded his investment work in securities analysis striving to help clients build sound, long-term investment portfolios. Tom also developed specialties in Latin American and Middle East investment markets and securities.
Tom formed his own investment advisory company in 1998, earning a Series 65 investment adviser license. His office was located in the Wall Street District.
In 2007, Tom added commodities futures trading to his securities services. He formed a new company encompassing both assets, naming the firm Commodities & Securities, Inc. Tom began studying commodities years earlier and realized how important they were to more effective securities and markets analysis. He passed the National Commodities Futures Exam obtaining a Series 3 commodities futures license. He registered as a Commodities Trading Advisor through the National Futures Association regulated by the Commodities Futures Trading Commission.
Tom pioneered a commodities analytic approach to securities analysis and corporate performance. This, Tom explains, is actually quite simple--"So go commodities prices, so goes corporate and stock market performance." Tom notes that "commodities fundamentally impact the basis of the entire economy.
Tom is emphatic in stressing that risk protection methods are key to potentially reducing investment losses and possibly preventing massive portfolio downsides when the markets tumble. His experience in commodity futures and options trading--disciplines that specialize in hedging risk with asset protection strategies, are a vital portfolio component available to his clients.
Tom began his real estate career in Manhattan in 1988. He represented buyers and sellers in the residential coop and commercial condo markets.
